Discovery Education, a branch of the Discovery Channel that creates content for the K-12 education market, partnered with us to create a series of videos about science for children in Kindergarten through second grade. We ultimately made 105 videos, including 13 music videos that explore fundamental (and amazing!) topics like simple machines, thermodynamics, weather, animal behavior, anatomy, and geology. But more important than conveying cool facts, the videos taught students how to figure things out — with scientific tools like magnifying glasses, charts, and rulers, or simply by working together with their teachers and classmates.
I had the responsibility of leading a wonderful team of very talented designers, animators, videographers, editors, educators, and producers. I also had the pleasure of working with our great child actors and our supremely gifted musicians who composed and recorded 13 original (and very catchy) science songs that I can still sing to this day. I also wrote the scripts for all 105 episodes.
